The price cut, which takes effect immediately on 1 October, applies to the 1.7 mg and 2.4 mg doses – the doses used during most of the treatment period to achieve and maintain weight loss.
Novo says the price cut will save individual patients around SEK 500 or more per month, depending on the dose.
Jørgen Kronborg Jungersen, CEO of Novo Sweden, tells Life Science Focus that the price cut is a way of easing the financial burden on patients, who currently pay for the drug out of their own pockets.
