The agreement gives Novartis global rights to Abogen’s lead drug candidate ABO2203, which combines two technologies – mRNA and a T-cell engager – in an attempt to deplete B cells in autoimmune diseases.

A Phase I trial is under way in China involving patients with difficult-to-treat autoimmune diseases, while the drug candidate is also being investigated as a potential treatment for B-cell lymphoma.
