Alligator slims down as new CEO takes over

Alligator Bioscience has appointed Johan Giléus as its new CEO, succeeding Søren Bregenholt, who will leave the company at the end of the year.

Johan Giléus has more than 30 years of experience in senior executive positions, including the past nine years in the Swedish biotech sector. He has served as Alligator’s CFO since August 2024.

Alligator Bioscience, based in Lund, Sweden, has effectively dismantled much of its business following its decision in July to discontinue development of its drug candidate mitazalimab for pancreatic cancer.
