Medivir’s second act: three drugs to enter Phase 2

As recently as last autumn, the situation was critical, with cash reserves dwindling and the share price falling. Today, Medivir is well funded, its ownership structure has been strengthened, and three fully funded Phase 2 programmes are moving forward.“We are in a strong position now,” says CEO Jens Lindberg.

It is not only the company’s business and financial situation that has changed, but also its physical location. When Life Science Focus meets Jens Lindberg, the company has moved from its former premises in Huddinge to Hagastaden just a few days earlier.

Medivir now occupies offices on the first floor of Life City, with Forskaren, Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital literally just a stone’s throw away. Moving boxes are still scattered across the floor, and a display screen is waiting to be mounted on the wall.
