Boehringer doubles down on China with $7.4 billion deal
Boehringer Ingelheim continues to strengthen its ties with China’s growing pharmaceutical industry. The German pharmaceutical giant has now signed an agreement with Sino Biopharmaceutical covering six cancer programmes, with a potential value of nearly $7.4 billion.
Chinese pharmaceutical companies have become increasingly important partners for international pharmaceutical giants looking to strengthen their development pipelines.
For Boehringer Ingelheim, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and T-cell engagers are two priority areas. The company is now turning to China once again to expand its efforts to develop new cancer treatments.
