In September, Mölnlycke announced plans to split into two separate companies. The company has now revealed who will lead the two businesses going forward.
Anders Andersson, currently head of Mölnlycke's Wound Care business, will take over as CEO of Mölnlycke Health Care on 1 January 2027. On the same date, Fredrik Wallefors, currently head of the Operating Room Solutions business area, will become head of Surgical.
AdvertisementBoth have long track records at Mölnlycke. Anders Andersson joined the company in 2000 and has held several senior positions in areas including research and development, commercial operations and manufacturing. He has also previously headed the Operating Room Solutions business area.
Fredrik Wallefors joined Mölnlycke in 2002 and has held senior roles in research and development, marketing and sales, among others. Before taking on his current position, he was global commercial lead for Operating Room Solutions.
AdvertisementFredrik Wallefors is subsequently expected to take over as CEO of the new company, Mölnlycke Surgical, once the split has been completed and the relevant negotiations with employee representatives have concluded, Mölnlycke said in a press release.
Owner Patricia Industries welcomed the appointment of two internal candidates.
“We are pleased that two internal candidates have been appointed as the new leaders of Mölnlycke. Anders and Fredrik are highly experienced leaders with deep knowledge of their respective businesses and a clear ambition to drive continued profitable growth,” said Thomas Kidane, Co-Head of Patricia Industries, in a press release.
AdvertisementUnder the planned split, the operating room solutions and surgical gloves businesses will be brought together under Mölnlycke Surgical, while wound care and antiseptics will remain part of Mölnlycke Health Care. The aim is to give the two businesses a clearer strategic focus and better conditions for continued growth.
Until the end of the year, Guillaume Joucla will continue as interim CEO of Mölnlycke Health Care. He has led the company since Zlatko Rihter stepped down as CEO in March.
